Caner Atik

He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Economics in 2003. He started working as an Assistant Customs Expert at the Undersecretariat of Customs in December 2004 and continued this duty until March 2007. He passed the entrance exam held by the Ministry of Finance, Account Experts Board and was appointed as Assistant Account Expert on 30.03.2007, and was appointed as Account Expert on 02.06.2010 after passing the qualification exam.

He served as a Tax Inspector at the Ankara Large-Scale Taxpayers Group Presidency between July 2011 and September 2015, during which time he conducted tax inspections for numerous large-scale taxpayers. In September 2015, he began serving as the Deputy Chairman of the Ankara Large-Scale Taxpayers Group. He held this position for over 4 years, during which time he served as the Chairman of the Notification and Inspection Requests Evaluation Commission, Chairman of the Explanation Evaluation Commission, Tax Inspector Assistants Training Coordinator, Member of the Report Evaluation Commission, and Chairman/Member of the Pre-Assessment Reconciliation Commission.

He gave a conference on “Audit of Municipal Companies” at the Court of Accounts in June 2015, and received his Expert Certificate by completing the “Expert Training” organized by the Ankara Bar Association in April 2019. He has a thesis on “Withholding Application in the Income Tax Law” and numerous articles on tax issues published in national and refereed journals.

He has been a board member at the Association of Accountants and a member of the audit board at the Foundation of Accountants for a long time. He speaks English very well. He left his position at the Ministry of Finance in November 2019 and serves as a founding partner and certified public accountant at Yükseliş Certified Public Accounting Company. He also serves as an independent board member at Gimat Mağazalık San. ve Tic. A.Ş., whose shares are traded on Borsa Istanbul.
